New Embroidered Light Switch Cover

Pin It Now!

As I promised I made a light switch cover to replace the boring white one in Brandon's office.
I had this idea of incorporating stitching into light switch cover design.
This was my first attempt.  There's a few kinks that need to be worked out, but all in all I like it.

I have just discovered a new necktie project that I am super excited about, so stay tuned!

Valentine Card Making Party

Pin It Now!
Today myself and a couple of my dear friends got together and crafted Valentine's Expressions of our own inspiration.

Here are some action shots:

The Decoupage and Glitter definitely got a lot of use!

The lovely Gabby made an Altoids Shrine for her Aunt and Uncle.  It turned out amazing!

The lovely Heather made three super cool Valentine Cards:

That's the front and back of one of her cards.  I love it!

I made a card for my Mom and my Sweetheart.  This was my first 3D shadowbox and it took much deliberation, but I'm happy with the results :)

And one final picture of the crew with our creations.

I hope this inspires you to make create some Valentine Love from the heart because it's so much fun!

What I've been up to today...

Pin It Now!

I promised Brandon I would turn an extremely small fleece throw that he received from his boss into a computer sleeve, aka dust cover, oh, about 2 or 3 months.  Well, I made it today!  His birthday is just around the corner after all.
I am so proud of myself.  I hope he likes it.

I am embarrassed that that light switch cover is so boring, however.  That's next on my list :)

Celebration of the '20s

Pin It Now!

My good friend Meghan celebrated her 30th b-day last Saturday night.  It was a 1920s themed gala in an old theater that had been around in the 1920s.

I am a huge fan of the '20s.  When I was in my Mom's dance troupe, I had learned the Charleston, among many other dances, and it was definitely one of my favorites.  I love the style, the hair, you name it.

I asked Meghan if I could play the Birthday Song for her on my musical saw and she was totally thrilled with idea.  I needed to look sharp since now I would be performing.

Anyway, I borrowed a beautiful dress from Meghan that was from the 1920s and adorned myself with this amazing hat that I recently procured at an estate sale.  As some of you may know I am a vendor at House of Vintage on Hawthorne.  I like to specialize in hats, hence my shop name:  Fascinate Me.

Meghan's party was great.  She showed old movies from the '20s and had live music and a clown that performs cowboy roping tricks.  I had a great time and I hope Meghan did, too.
